Focusing on topics ranging from the Vessels of the Holy Temple to Pseudo Deterministic Algorithms, and from the Genius of Judaism to a colorful career in Israeli theater, BIU’s 2017 Honorary Doctors spoke on subjects close to their heart while Magen David Adom sponsored a campus-wide Health Awareness Day.
The Rishon LeZion, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, spoke of the Holy Temple vessels uncovered in archaeological excavations. “The sanctity of these tools still exists, and did not expire over time or during wars and conquests” he stated. “They should be preserved with respect, as we hope that we can use them in the building of the next Temple.” Jerusalem’s Sephardic Chief Rabbi, a 2017 BIU Honorary Doctor, was the keynote speaker at the Nitzotzot Conference, sponsored by Allan Dalfen, which was held at the Jesselson Institute for Advanced Torah Studies to mark the 50th anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem
