Dear Friends,
Having just celebrated Shavuot, also known as the Festival of Reaping and the Day of the First Fruits, I cannot help but appreciate what an apt metaphor it is for the BIU School of Medicine in the Galilee. After sowing the seeds and nurturing the school’s growth in recent years, we are now starting to reap the fruit. What a proud moment it was when in early June, the school graduated its very first class of medical doctors. A dream comes true for BIU and the Galilee. This month’s newsletter offers a look at that special event as well as a view of important health-related research underway on campus that can impact human lives. We also take pride in the achievements of our award-winning faculty and provide a briefing on a conference probing the efforts to integrate Haredi students into education and the workforce. As to our successful 2016 Board of Trustees, we hope to highlight that in our next newsletter — Stay Tuned!
